About the event

In Japan Hanamatsuri occurs on April 8th, and only Japan celebrates on this particular date.

To commemorate the celebrations, many Buddhist temples in Japan are decorated with flowers - we bring these to our home alters to remind us of the flower that sprang up under Siddhartha's first steps.

It's a time where we rededicate oursleves to our vows.

We'll bathe the baby Buddha in tea,

AND importantly we'll eat cake and have ourselves an online party!

A sesshin (接心, literally translates as  "touching the heart-mind" is a period of intensive meditation.
